A Little Bit About Me:

Thanks for stopping by, I'm Robin.

My husband and I live in eastern Iowa, and we started our lives together as a blended party of nine. I used to joke about what those numbers meant in our early years together—until I realized the laundry, grocery bill, and college tuition costs were no laughing matter.

The good news is the math has finally started to work in our favor: we’re adding grandchildren to the mix, and I have to say, “GG” and “Pops” are feeling pretty rich right now.

A little more about me: I’m a Christian, sarcasm is my second language, and I’m pretty good at getting inside your head. I tell you these three things for good reason:

  • Faith is the heart of who I am,
  • I enjoy bragging (just a little) that I know a second language,
  • And being able to think like my clients is the secret ingredient in my ghostwriting.

A little bit about my work:

My roots in writing go back more than 20 years, starting in journalism and branching into a mom blog and humor column. They were equal parts hobby, entertainment, and therapy. What began with a small audience of family, friends, and a few brave readers eventually opened some doors to major newspaper work, national parenting publications, and even a couple of stories in Chicken Soup for the Soul. Along the way, I picked up a few speaking gigs (one of which involved a zipper, fake nails, and a pretty funny story—if you’re not me), earned the "Promising Pen" award from the Quad Cities Christian Writers’ Conference, and even received a surprise public endorsement from bestselling author Cecil Murphey that I’m still blushing about.

Ghostwriting eventually became my specialty. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping everyone from well-established speakers and large churches to everyday families put their words on paper and their stories into the world. But my most defining project didn’t start in an office or conference room—it started at my grandma’s kitchen table.

My grandma asked me to help her compile some of her journals, photos, and family history into a single manuscript. It took us about a year of visits, and during this process, I got to know Grandma in ways I never expected. I had no idea when we started just how valuable this project would become. Just a couple of days after we finished, Grandma upgraded her address—from Iowa to heaven. At her funeral, I was able to read about how Grandma wanted to be known and remembered, in her own words. It wasn’t just a book; it became her legacy—a “bestseller” to the people who loved her most.

That experience shifted my entire approach to writing and planted the seed for what would eventually become Legacy Writing and Legacy Press Books.

Today, I use that same passion and process I picked up in journalism and ghostwriting to help people preserve their stories of faith and family history—because I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it is when a life gets written down.

Whether you're an aspiring author with a message to share, a speaker looking to expand your platform, or a proud grandparent with a shoebox full of memories, I’m here to help. I work with writers and non-writers alike—because your ability to tell a story doesn’t have to match the depth of the one you’ve lived. Together, we’ll shape your words, preserve your legacy, and create something meaningful that your family—and maybe even the world—will treasure for generations to come.

Ready to get your story on the page? I’d be honored to help.
