If you know my oldest son, then you won't be surprised to find out that he was recently inaugurated as Drake University's next student body president. "God has planted greatness in you. Let today be the beginning of a great adventure as you step into the gifts he has given you." -Joyce Meyer Tonight I get to be a guest at the Drake University Inauguration Ceremony for the next student body president. As I listen to the speech and take pictures of the young man in the second photo, I'm sure I'll be thinking of the kid in the first. God definitely planted dreams in his heart at an early age. What an honor to have a front row seat to seeing him walk forward in obedience and opportunity. There is one more thing that I don't want to go unnoticed about Nathan and his new assignment: He is a great leader not because he is good at being in charge; although, he is. He is a great leader because he is good at serving. He isn't afraid to work. He isn't afraid to get dirty. He isn't afraid of tackling the tough stuff. He doesn't put himself above anyone. And as his mom, that is the leadership trait that I think I am most proud of. "Whoever wants to be a leader among you
must be your servant." Matt 20:26 (NLT)
